We will be rolling out several new activities this Fall; from date nights to toddler tours to conversations about art. There is always plenty to see and do at the Barrick. Hope to see you soon!
Daily Offerings at the Barrick Museum:
Make your own “Found Object Collage” inspired by Stephen Antonakos “Untitled Greek Travel Collages” on view now. Bring found objects to donate to the ArtBar or use some of ours. Glue and paper provided. Take your collages home or exhibit them in the lobby.
The Barrick will provide supplies for contour drawing. Many of the works in the exhibition feature LINE as the main element. Take your drawings home or exhibit them in the lobby.
The Barrick regularly presents films as part of its programming. The award-winning documentary, Herb & Dorothy, by filmmaker Megumi Sasaki, is currently playing to accompany the exhibition The Dorothy and Herbert Vogel Collection. Videos by contemporary artists are planned for the Fall/Winter.
Children and their adult companions are invited to use their imaginations as they explore our exhibitions and attend Storytime at the Barrick.
Mon.- Fri.: 4 – 4:30 p.m. Saturday: 1 – 1:30 p.m.
Our conversational tours encourage critical thinking. Tours are available by request, and are subject to staff availability. There is no charge. A minimum of one chaperone for every seven children is required. Tours can be customized.
Artists have always studied works of art for inspiration. Get inspired by the Barrick’s collection and discover the artist within.
Join the Barrick Museum every Saturday for free sketching. Pick up free paper and pencils at our reception desk.
Stoller Tours take place on the first Friday of each month, 1:30 – 2:15 pm. Tours meet at the lobby reception desk.
Experience art with your little one(s) in tow. These guided tours are for moms, dads, and caregivers and are designed to allow you to be mindful of your young ones as you look and talk about art with other adults. Starting September 6th.
Toddler Tours take place on the second Saturday of each month, 1:00 – 2:00 pm.
You are never too young to learn about art. Bring your tot to the Barrick for a story, a mini-tour and hands-on activity. Starting September 14th.
The third Thursday of every month bring someone along for Date Night, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
Art lends itself to conversation in a natural and inadvertent way: it allows you to get to know someone. Bring a picnic, tour the garden and the galleries and create a work of art together (projects vary each month). Starting October 17th.
We invite you to get creative the third Saturday of every month, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.
Look around the galleries. Think about materials, line, color, and shape – then create your own art (projects vary monthly). Starting September 21st.
Critique and Conversation is held the last Friday of every month 4:00 – 5:00 pm.
Join the Barrick for informal and in depth discussions about art and ideas. Each month has a different focus. Hosted by Barrick’s Collection Manager and artist Alisha Kerlin. Guest speakers and topics to be announced. Starting August 30th.
ALL EVENTS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
