Belly Glass (detail)
Acrylic, oil, enamel, faux gold leaf on canvas
Donated by the artist
This is going to be yesterday’s news if you read our other social media, but the Barrick is grateful to have received Robert Beckmann’s 1990 work, Belly Glass.
(If you were here a year ago you might remember his huge painting of the Luxor in a Biblical flood.)
We will be closed during the upcoming weekend while we host two days of lectures and discussions about Mesoamerican art. You can find out more about the Braunstein Symposium here: http://www.unlv.edu/barrickmuseum/education/symposium
Monday the 20th will see us still closed, due to Martin Luther King Day. We’ll reopen on Tuesday. The next exhibition should be up on the 30th. Bright and enormous.
