The Holiday Season is underway and here are a few Barrick Museum notes as we head toward the end of 2015.
LAST LECTURE: Robert Irwin will be the final guest speaker for the 2015 UNLV Artist Lecture Series. The talk with the designer of The Central Garden at the Getty Center is expected to be a popular lecture. It begins at 6 p.m. on December 10. That is an hour earlier than previous lectures. It is recommended to come early. Seating will be limited.
MAKE ART: Visitor-Made series continues with “Deconstruction Studies” on December 17, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. From the release:
“Las Vegas is always inventing itself. Artist Erin Stellmon uses mixed-media collage to represent the destruction and rebuilding that we often see in our city. Visitors are invited to use our source materials to create mixed-media studies inspired by the visual fragmentation in Stellmon’s work on view for Kveck, Russ & Stellmon: Break Ups & Tear Downs.”
FOR EMERGING ARTISTS: The Barrick ‘Art Supply Drive’ that benefits the John D. Gaughan Boy’s and Girl’s Club continues until December 21.
